Horses

Our horse crazy girls have been learning a lot about horses. They've learned about horse breeds, horse care, horse evolution, tack, sporting events...

The girls watched some videos of polo matches on YouTube.com.

They also watched some horse competitions there as well.

Last weekend they watched a documentary from Netflix called The Little Horse Who Could. From Netflix...

This entertaining documentary lets you ride along with horse trainer Carol Kozlowski and her Connemara stallion, Erin Go Bragh, as they prepare for a rigorous combination training competition that encompasses obstacle jumps as well as dressage. Aided by lively Irish music and an affable horse who "talks," the program helps children understand what goes into caring for a horse, including proper grooming, training and veterinary care.

The girls LOVED IT!

Georgia has been working on her horse book. She's been compiling information into a three-ring binder. It is all about horses. So far she has general horse information, such as their diet, anatomy, history, etc. She also has info on their evolution, a color chart, skeletal chart, diagram on tying knots, and several individual pages for breeds of horses and ponies. She has a list of the breeds she wants to add....oh my! It is quite long.

They girls also watched the BrainPop.com video on horses, and visited several other horse sites this week:

Georgia completed her math portion of the test yesterday. She said it was too easy. We'll know the results in a few weeks.
