The girls watched the movie Felicity: An American Girl Adventure about a girl in Williamsburg, Virginia just before the Revolutionary War. The girls really enjoyed the movie about life in that time, and about the Loyalists and Patriots. And of course the movie featured a horse, so that was a big plus!
After the movie, we watched a video tour of Colonial Williamsburg that was included on the DVD.
We also played some games and learned more about Colonial America at the movie's web site: http://www.americangirl.com/movie/felicity/
The girls also designed a sampler, as they saw the girls in the movie make.
And we revisited the Colonial Williamsburg site for kids with their fun games and facts: http://www.history.org/kids/
And we started making some paper fans. The girls are still decorating them, so we haven't folded them up yet.
