Making Fossils

Earlier this week we made some fossils. We found a recipe on the Kaboose Network that used coffee and coffee grounds to make the salt dough.

We mixed flour, salt, and coffee grounds together.

Then we added the cold coffee and stirred.

Then we used a small cup to make circles from the flattened dough. They flattened them how they wanted them to be.

We gathered things from around the house to make our fossils. We used mostly shells, but also some of their toy animals to make tracks.

Georgia said it looked like she was working with coprolites!

We are letting them dry, and then we are going to try to match up the items with their marks!
