Tonight the girls and I stayed up to watch Human Footprint on the National Geographic Channel. We are very glad we did, though we couldn't help feeling sad to learn how much the average person in the United States uses in resources through their entire life.
On commercials the girls and I talked a lot about what we do to conserve, reuse, and recycle everyday. We also talked about what more we could do. We plan on brainstorming some more with pen and paper tomorrow. Perfect timing for the discussion with Earth Day approaching!

National Geographic also has some educational resources that go along with the documentary that you can download here. I plan on checking them out soon.
They also have a site called The Green Guide which we have visited many times for tips on living greener, checking out buying guides and learning what to look for and avoid.
We've viewed the trash, landfill and recycling center exhibit at the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery and learned a lot of neat things there.
And we have been reading from our current issue of Kids Discover which is about conservation.
This will be one of our main topics for a while...even though it usually is talked about quite often in our household on a regular basis.
